When should I mail letters to Alaska?
In general, we ask that all volunteers stick with the exact mail date we set for each campaign. There are just a few exceptions. One is if you're sending letters from outside the country.
The other is if you're writing letters to Alaska from outside the state. In that case it's a good idea to send them just a few days earlier than the official mail date, to allow extra time for those letters to arrive.
We recommend padding the mail date by 2 mail days. So for example, if the official mail date is on Saturday, October 29, we'd suggest sending your Alaska letters on Thursday, October 27.
