Which type of Political Campaign is more important: congressional district-wide or statewide?

This year, we followed the guidance of political experts at our affiliated organization, Swing Left, when we created our Political campaigns. Because multiple levels of the ballot are in play this year, we are offering two types of campaigns. Our statewide campaigns are focused in states that are competitive at the Presidential level and/or where there is a competitive statewide race for Senate/governor. Our district-level campaigns are focused in specific competitive U.S. House districts that will help determine the balance of power in the House. These are districts where either a competitive Democratic candidate is challenging an incumbent Republican or where a Democratic incumbent needs help to hold on to their seat.

The choice of where to focus your efforts is entirely up to you — and it depends on the way you want to make a difference this year. If you are primarily concerned about making an impact in the 2024 general election, we recommend starting with one of our statewide Political campaigns.  However, if you’re equally interested in helping Democrats gain control of the House of Representatives, our district-level campaigns could definitely use your support. Remember that you can adopt letters from as many campaigns as you like, so you are also welcome to adopt from both statewide and district-level campaigns.

You can view more information about our statewide and district-level Political targets, including information about the candidates and why these areas are competitive, at Swing Left’s website here.
